00622 Assurance of Salvation; Eternal Security; UVDH

Assurance of Salvation is one of the most precious truths for every believer.
The Bible teaches that salvation is secure because it rests on Christ’s finished work.
Yet our personal sense of assurance can rise or fall with feelings and circumstances.
This study explains the difference between objective security and subjective assurance.
It shows why true salvation cannot be lost and why believers can rest in God’s promises.
Key Scriptures like John 10, Romans 5, and Romans 8 provide unshakable certainty.
We also address common misunderstandings that create unnecessary fear.
The Holy Spirit’s indwelling presence guarantees our eternal relationship with God.
Salvation begins with deliverance from darkness and a new life in Christ.
This message is a call to worship, clarity, and firm confidence in God’s Word.

Assurance of Salvation; Eternal Security; UVDH
Assurance of Salvation & Security of Salvation DH

Sing praise to the Lord,
O gladly exalt Him!
Worship and praise belong to Him.

Sing praise to His love,
Which alone moved Him
To die for our sins!

Sing praise to His power!
His work is accomplished:
He sits at the right hand of the Father.

Sing praise to His faithfulness,
Always new,
Until He brings us into glory!

What is Assurance of Salvation? And who possesses Assurance?

Security of Salvation is objective:
Independent of my knowledge, my view, my feelings.
It is about facts — and these we take from the Bible!

Assurance of Salvation is subjective:
I may feel assured without having realistic grounds.
Or I may doubt although there is no reason to doubt.

Suggestion

Since the German word Heil has become vague today, it is helpful to replace it with “Rettung / σωτηρία (sōtēria) — Salvation.”

Security of Salvation is objective:

Independent of my knowledge, my view, my feelings.
It is about facts, and we take them from the Scriptures!

Assurance of Salvation is subjective:

I may feel assured without any realistic basis.
I may also doubt, although doubt is not appropriate.

Whoever believes in Jesus Christ does not receive a probation sentence,
but is acquitted forever.

Thoughts on this

Coming out of the domain of Satan, leaving idolatry,
is the first mark of the new life.

Example:
When someone is converted within the idolatry of the Roman Catholic Church,
he will very soon separate from it.

Key Statements

Whoever denies the UVDH
denies a Person he constantly talks about,
but has never come to know —
the Lord Jesus Christ.

Explanation:
The Gospel makes the way of deliverance clear.
Salvation is the result when the Gospel is received in repentance and faith.

Important Note

The Blood of Christ
— as the ground of our salvation.

The Word of God
— as the ground of our security.

Scripture References

John 6:51

“I am the living bread which came down from heaven; if anyone eats of this bread, he shall live forever. And the bread which I will give is My flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.”

Whoever performs the act of eating the Bread of Life
(aorist = a decisive act)
will live forever.

John 10:27–30

“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me;
and I give unto them eternal life, and they shall never perish,
and no one shall snatch them out of My hand.
My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all;
and no one can snatch them out of My Father’s hand.
I and the Father are one.”

No one can snatch the sheep of the Lord Jesus out of His hand.
No one can snatch them out of the Father’s hand.
They shall never (double negation ou mē) perish — for eternity.

John 14:16

“And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter, that He may be with you forever.”

The Holy Spirit remains with the redeemed forever.

Romans 5:1

“Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

We have been justified
(dikaiōthentes — aorist participle = completed act)
— by faith.

Romans 8:1

“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus.”

There is no condemnation anymore
for those who are in Christ.

Romans 8:37–39

“But in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities,
nor things present nor things to come, nor powers… (nor height, …)”

Where does the false teaching come from that the saved can be lost again?

The problem arises because people in “churches” are told
to “invite Jesus into their heart,” and thus they are declared Christians and saved.

What it means to have conviction of sin,
to turn to the Lord Jesus in faith,
what the new birth is,
what the sealing with the Holy Spirit means,
what the anointing by God the Holy Spirit brings about,
what it means to be added to the Body of Christ
and to be baptized in the Holy Spirit,
what it means to have eternal life
these things they are not taught.

Genesis 15:6
“And he believed Jehovah; and He reckoned it to him for righteousness.”
