00846 “If you are an Adventist and you take the Bible seriously, then listen to these seven exegetical points. Not my opinion — just text, context, and grammar.”

1 Sabbath = Sign of the Sinai Covenant, not of Creation

“Exodus 31:13–17 calls the Sabbath an ’ôt — a covenant sign.
And the text explicitly says: ‘Between Me and the sons of Israel.’
The Hebrew bênî ûbên benej Yisra’el allows no universal audience.

The creation account in Genesis 2 contains no command.
No imperative.
No šābat as a human obligation.
The Sabbath is first commanded at Sinai.”

2 Acts 15: The Sabbath was deliberately NOT imposed

“In Acts 15 the question is debated:
Must Gentiles keep the Law of Moses?
The answer is a clear no.

And notice:
If the Sabbath were binding on Gentiles, Acts 15 is exactly where it would have to be mentioned.
It is not mentioned at all.”

3 Colossians 2:16–17 — Grammar against Sabbath obligation

“Paul writes:
‘Let no one judge you… regarding the Sabbath.’
Greek: mē tis hymas krinetō.
This is a prohibitive imperative against legalistic evaluation.

And then:
The Sabbath is a shadow (skia), Christ is the substance (sōma).
A shadow cannot simultaneously be a salvific sign.”

4 Galatians 4:10–11 — Observing days = regression into law‑religion

“Paul calls the keeping of days, months, seasons, and years a return to
ta stoicheia tou kosmou — the ‘elemental principles of the world.’
This is the strongest NT statement against religious calendar obligations.”

5 Hebrews 4 — Sabbath rest = Christ, not a weekday

“The author argues:
The true rest is katapausis — God’s rest.
And this rest is offered today, not on the seventh day.

Verse 10:
‘Whoever has entered His rest has rested from his works.’
This is soteriological rest, not calendar rest.”

6 Ellen White’s failed prophecy of 1844

“Ellen White repeatedly affirmed that Christ was supposed to come to earth in 1844.
He did not.

Deuteronomy 18:22 gives the criterion:
‘If the word does not come to pass, the LORD has not spoken.’
This is not a matter of interpretation.
It is a prophetic test.”

7 The Three Angels’ Message is not an Adventist exclusive

“Revelation 14 proclaims an eternal gospeleuangelion aiōnion.
Nothing in the text connects this message to a 19th‑century denomination.
The claim of exclusivity is eisegesis, not exegesis.”

Conclusion

“If you are an Adventist:
Examine these texts in the original languages.
Examine the context.
Examine the prophetic claims.
Christ is not calling you into an organization —
He is calling you into His rest.”
